Duck pond in Assiniboine Park in the fall
Painted this view of Assiniboine Park yesterday at noon in Winnipeg. It was a very delightful painting experience for me when a group of elementary school kids came along with their teachers and watched me painting and they were all so excited to see painting on spot. As well as the group of young kids, quite a few seniors stayed with me watching and chatting with me throughout my painting process which lasted less than two hours. The most poignant moment was when I started to put the half-mast maple leave flag onto the pavilion in the distance, and I am sure the people who watched me doing so all shared a moment of sadness over what had happened in Ottawa

On a quiet street in the afternoon
Came home to find a bag hanging on my door knob with 7 pieces of canvas. I do not know from whom it came from with such thoughtfulness. I took one piece of canvas out with my easel and painted this view to mark the occasion.
