Edward --- a British lab

A 5 minute oil sketch of Edward , a lovely British black lab. He would position himself right away in the kitchen area as soon as he came over for a visit lifting up his head with that yearning look in his eyes without a blink until whoever happens to be in the kitchen and in charge of the business of cooking become guilty stricken and would accidentally and conveniently drop a piece of food which always seems to find its way into his big mouth just in a nick of time.

From my first Cruise trip on board Holland America Line Volendam Ship from August 5 to August 12

My first ever cruise trip to Alaska is more than an eye opening experience for me. On board Volendem of Holland America Line, I was able to paint en plein air 26 paintings during our 7 day trip. Quite a few of the collection of the paintings are painted on a moving ship which adds more to the challenge as the view I am tried to capture is not stationary and was out of my visual field in a just matter of few minutes. Here is the paintings from our trip this week.

Fotheringghay's church of St. Mary and All Saints

A distant view of Fotheringhay's church of St.Mary and All Saints from the bridge over the River Nene.
Thanks to Inge Horváth Skliros , my dream of painting in English country finally came true at that moment!

From the town of Ambeside in England's Lake District

From Wordsworth's Daffodile Garden in Grasmere in England's lake District

What could be more thrilling to paint on this spot only a few steps away from Wordsworth's tomb and right beside a slate stone  engraved with the last stanza from his famous poem about daffodils
 " For oft, when on my couch I lie
          In vacant or in pensive mood,
          They flash upon that inward eye
          Which is the bliss of solitude;
          And then my heart with pleasure fills,
          And dances with the daffodils"

From Windermere, Lake District in England!

My first ever plein air painting painted just a few steps away from Ivy Bank B & B where we stayed  during our three day trip to England's Lake District. A quintessential English street in Windermere early in the morning with cloudy sky
